درست لانا التصميم في الجامعة الأمريكية في بيروت، وحصلت على درجة الماجستير في الفنون الجميلة من كلية الفنون البصرية في نيويورك. وهي تقيم حاليًا بين إسبانيا ودبي. 
استقطبت لوحات لانا خياط، التي تتميز بإنتاجها الغزير والمتخصصةُ في الخط والنقوش، المعجبين من جميِع أنحاءِ منطقة الشرق الأوسط.

تعلّمت الفنانة اللبنانية فن الخط بنفسها من خلال مشاهدتها لوالدها وجدها يقومان بتنفيذ وترميم غرف العجمي. وتُعرَض أعمال جدها الأكبر، محمد سليمان خياط، في متحف متروبوليتان وجامعة نيويورك ومتحف شانغريلا للفنون والثقافة والتصميم الإسلامي في هاواي.

تحول تركيز أعمالها الجديدة من تمثيل الخط والنقوش (فقط) إلى تصوير الخطِ بصفاتٍ وأشكالٍ مختلفة كالتمثيل من خلال الضوء والمناظر الطبيعية والمناظر الخضراء. وهي تركز الآن أكثر فأكثر على الصفات الُزخرفية للون والشكل.

 عرضت لانا أعمالها في المملكة العربية السعودية والإمارات العربية المتحدة ولندن ونيويورك.

تستعد لانا الآن لإقامة أول معرضٍ فرديٍ لها بالتعاون مع جاليريا ثيما في إسبانيا، في سبتمبر من عام 2022م.

Lana studied Design at the American University of Beirut, and earned her Masters in Fine Arts at the School of Visual Arts in NY. She is currently residing between Spain and Dubai.

Lana Khayat's exuberant paintings, which feature fields of calligraphy and inscriptions, have won her fans across the Middle East. The Lebanese artist self taught herself calligraphy watching her father and grandfather create and restore Ajami rooms. Her great-grand father, Mohamad Suleiman Khayat's work is showcased at the Metropolitan Museum, NYU and the ShangriLa, Hawaï.

The emphasis in her new work has shifted from representing calligraphy and inscriptions(only) to depicting calligraphy with different qualities of light, atmosphere and gardens-scape. She is now increasingly sensitive to the decorative qualities of color and form. 

Lana has showcased in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, London and NY.

Lana is now preparing for her first Solo show with Galleria Thema in Spain, September 2022.
